This weekend Colchester had one of the furthest away trips of the season away at Hampshire FA. With the bus leaving Layer Road at 6am for a 10.30am kick off it is always a test of commitment both on and off the pitch for the players.
The under 10s showed that every week they are improving there performances and results as C Bryant scored their first goal. However this wasn’t enough to record there first win as Reading were eventual winner. Player of the match: C Bryant
The under 12s once again draw 3-3 with C Mahoney hitting a hat trick. Player of the match: G Outhwaite
It was goals galore on the U14s pitch with Colchester winning 7-6. A hat trick from K Nutman, 2 goals from top scorer R Henderson, 1 from E Sherwood and a debut goal from N Felthan sealing the win for the U’s. Player of the match: M Tappin.
For the under 16s it really was a game of two halves! In the first half the Colchester were poor and looked as if they had suffered from the travel and were disrupted by injuries throughout the half. Hampshire rightly came in 2-0 up at half time. Colchester needed to up there performance to get anything out of the game second half and that’s exactly what they did with goals coming from F Swales, S Redford 2 and a 20 yard screamer from player of the match Lizzie Kent leading Colchester to amazing come back wining 4-2.
